Label metal Ltd is a company joining technological equipment, knowledge and skills in the printing production. The company is now focusing on the components for Sheet offset and Web offset units.

„The damage of the surface layers is the main cause for decommissioning the used parts. Such damage applies approximately to 80% to 90% of the machine components. In order to succeed in prolonging the durability of the components, the analysis of the working space, service conditions and functionality and geometry of the component need to be carried out. Furthermore the choice of the suitable material and especially the right choice of the outer layer with its fixation to the component part are also a key to success.
We aim at evaluating all the service conditions, the choice of a more suitable material of the component part, increasing its quality with the use of thermal processing, alloying elements and the fixing of the surface layer. The company focuses mainly on the resistance to seizing, abrasion, erosion and chemical corroding processes. “

One of the company projects is to prolong the durability of component parts that are constantly exposed to abrasive conditions. We aim at decreasing the number of set backs and the frequency of component checks, and at higher printing productivity. This project has been running for more two years and so far it has brought back encouraging results. It is an impulse for our future journey.

Green line marks values that prolonged the component durability by 1/3. The surface layer is applied in more or less the same layer yet the layer composition is different and is well-adjusted in the component. Therefore the Micro-cracks which among other things make the surface colour glue up on the component and make the colour imprint onto the printed product do not take place. Furthermore, the making of the layer and its the well-adjustment are far more friendly to the environment.

Red line is the product of the so-called third generation layers which also contain self-lubricating components that markedly decrease friction. Moreover, compared to other commonly applied layers, this layer can be applied in double thickness. At present moment components layered in this way are being put to production tests based on which the durability will be evaluated. We are more than sure that the results are going to be more than satisfying.
